The Watchmen

"This movie is about a bunch of washed up HUMANS with no powers."
"B u t i t m a k e s n o s e e n n n s e !!!"
"Watchmen" is a very bad movie, and I am one of the few people who have the guts to say it!

I consider myself a very open-minded person, I can enjoy over the top violence, gore etc. but this???

After watching 300 my expectations were ridiculously high but I did not expect this from Zack Snyder.

A boring plot that moves along like your Grandma's childhood memories.

I've never been to a movie that spent this many hours being bad.

There were all these silly side sub plots that totally confused the storyline! The movie jumps around way to much, doesn't have a solid plot line, bored the hell out of me!

There were just too many plots happening all at once, very very very long introduction.

The plot is dizzily boring and confusing.
"never-ending series of meaningless dialogues"
The book may be very good (friends tell me it is), but I can verify that the movie is awful.

Events and character choices just didn't make sense to me!!

It is a constant and never-ending series of meaningless dialogues

I just could not wait for the impending nuclear holocaust because then I would be able to go home. And I'm actually a very peaceable person...

I really don't understand people who are saying they will watch this over and over!?
I don't dislike Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel or Leonard Cohen.

I cared less about the blue penis

the giant blue Smurf who's genitalia seem to make their appearance with ever increasing frequency for no apparent reason.

The constantly flashing big blue penis was already quite disturbing/distracting in itself, but not as much as the script itself.
The "heroes" allow millions to die because they are too crappy at being heroes
The movie does not manage to make me feel connected to any of the characters. This is the main weakness to me.

The Comedian is the only one I loved straight away but he dies within 5 minutes.

I found myself caring only about Rohrschach.

'Rorschach'. The only character that you actually felt anything for.

The one shining light in this movie was the performance of Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach. Of course he sounded like a conservative so they had to kill him off before the movie ended.

Nite Owl is a geek. He's the kind of classmate who's name you wouldn't remember after 1 year.

Silk Spectre II was horrible. All she does is have sex with the guys without too much of a pause between them.
"Worse than Shakespeare!"
It amazes me how much emotional baggage these people in their stupid costumes can carry around with them.

a bunch of boring people who think that they can save the world.

it has hardly any plot to speak of! Both my girl-friend and I vented our anger about this fact after the screening

Silk Spectre II's life was a joke and so was this movie.

The rescue scene followed by the sex scene just about sums up the whole film - it was just non-arousing, boring and pointless.

Recall that extra homework you got after behaving badly at school? Well, I at least do, and this movie is it. Worse than Shakespeare written on paper, if that means anything.

The only time I paid attention was when someone's bone popped out or someone's arms got chopped off.

PS.
I found more than 150 reviews with 1/10 rating at IMDB. I only had the time to study 50 of them.

Where the boring and depressed things are (2008)

"bizarre behavior which totally embarrasses the viewer"
"The monsters on the island are nothing more than large Muppet like creations."
I honestly didn't get it. The wild things were mean to each other, the wild things were mean to the boy, no one was happy (especially my kids).

Our nearly seven-year-old daughter and her friend were bored to tears, our two-year-old was freaked out, and our whole family felt simply awful afterwards.

I think Saw VI would have felt more uplifting than this.
"growling and wearing the stupid wolf costume -whoa now that was disturbing."
the wild things had scowls on their faces the whole time and walked around in a kind of trance like state glaring and yelling at each other.

It's not wacky or funny. Not colorful or exciting. There's only about 10 minutes of what I'd call "fun".

It's troubling, confusing for children, confusing for adults (as in WTF?), and overall pretty pathetic.

Max never solves any of the monsters problems by the time he leaves

he comes across as a neurotic schizophrenic who suffers from ADD and multiple personality disorders,he also looks like he's on drugs half the time.
"why don't the monsters try and eat Max when he was one of the worst kings they ever had?"
It looked like a fun book for a kid when I looked at the cover illustration, but when I read it, it came across as silly nonsense.

I remember reading "Where the wild things are" many, many times.

how do you turn a nine sentence children's book into a movie?

I thought that the reworking of the story in this way was unnecessary.

This movie did not follow the book! I understand the book was short, but come on, at least it kinda made sense!

PS.
Carol's model of the island did not actually match the island.

PPS.
it is never explained what Carol has against Terry and Bob

LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

"Is this movie based on a book?"

This film is perhaps a good movie

This was like watching a very prolonged game of dungeons and dragons.

a 3 hour Sinbad-Hercules-Xena Warrior Princess sword & sorcery adventure

Some of the fight scenes are good in places

There are now only two movies that made me sleep in the theater. They are "Wag the Dog" and "Lord of the Rings."

BORING with a capital B!

The hobbits are dumb and small, the wizards are not magic.

As for the rest of the cast, a good bath wouldn't hurt them.

You´re all victims of a great advertising-campaign.

I have to give this 1 out of 10 just to counter-act all the perfect scores that the geeks have awarded it.

I beg of you people on this site to vote 1/10

Am I the only person in the world?

I can not put into words the hatred I have for this movie. The hatred comes from the depth of my soul. I HATED it!!!!!! The first half hour was pretty cool.

This movie has a very disappointing ending.

this movie has no ending!

people said it is a trilogy and has three parts

in the long term, it will be another Willow.

It is impossible for me to tell you how

Grizzly Man (2005)

"I think the bears just got sick of his shenanigans."
an hour and a half of people with awkward expressions on their faces

resorting to animals as friends

Tim Treadwell is off of his rocker. He is delusional, arrogant, hostile, belligerent and quite insane.

painful to watch

lunatic goes to Alaska and is eaten by bears
"the idiot who thought bears were fluffy harmless things"
it was obvious he was a delusional half- wit. When I see people like him on the street, I walk to the other side.

This was a terrible attempt at making a raving nut case look like some type of naturalist martyr.

His death was inevitable.

You play with bears, you get eaten.

watching Herzog listen to the audio on headphones. Herzog selfishly keeps this audio to himself

coroner who describes the death scene graphically and with suspect enthusiasm.

I found myself continually wanting to punch the filmmaker, and the people he interviewed.

The entire movie is filled with the pretentious voice-over of Mr. Herzog--where he selfishly promotes his tiresome opinions about hunters and the universe.

I felt dirty afterwards.

My DVD of it was promptly smashed and thrown in the trash.
"zooming into a bear's eyes"
Most people end up hating Treadwell... who deserved to get ripped to bloody ribbons.

a small-minded American idiot

spend 13 summers of his life living among grizzly bears

"Hello bear, hello, I love you bear, thank you for being my friend!"

one must wonder why it didn't happen sooner.

Ghost world (2001)

"Only plus point is Steve Buscemi who is always good."
There is nothing in this film that isn't annoying.

The writers try to provoke laughter with cruel social commentary.

The central characters are a void with nothing interesting to say or do.

Basically, this movie is MTV's "Daria" just more smug and self-loathing.

It was funny at first, and Steve is in it, but besides that...

it was about the selfish actions of one pathetic girl.

Steve Buscemi was being antagonized throughout the movie and I felt nothing but sympathy for him as Enid used and discarded him.

the girl goes to bed with Steve Buscemi

Steve Buscemi of all people.

cruel girl

When will there be a movie that has teens that act like human beings?

Enid was a snotty, conniving, selfish, self-centered bitch

she is, by definition, a sociopath.

An odd tale about what can happen if you poison your friendships and life with negative attitudes

I can't understand nor can I empathize with a person who hates everyone

If she did commit suicide at the end...

We definitely know that the other people in her life would have been better off without her.

What went through the directors mind!?!

FOR GODS SAKE DO NOT MAKE MOVIES LIKE THIS. THEY ARE NOT GOOD. THEY DO NOT TELL ANYONE ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING!!!

But the movie did have Steve in it.

He's one of the best actors out today and the fact that he isn't exactly the most handsome man makes me like him even more.

An Inconvenient Truth (2006)

"This film is like being in school."

Who are the 'friends' and 'small groups of scientists' that gathered this data?

How accurate were the weather instruments 100 years ago (the toilet wasn't even invented yet)?

We're asked to "believe" in the "consensus"...  Einstein didn't "believe" in the consensus, neither did Copernicus or Galileo.

There are over 35 major scientific mistakes in this.

Mathian is 25 times more of a green house gas than co2! Why blame us? Plants make a lot of Mathian when they ferment.

Professor Bob Carter***, of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University in Australia, on Gore's film: "Gore's circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic."

Al Gore is a POLITICIAN!

all Al Gore is trying to do is get some popularity points

his father raised him to be a great cowboy

Mr. Gore & his Hollywood buddies continue to use private fuel-guzzling jets

hypocrisy is quite evident in the film, as he is being driven in a gas guzzling car all alone using a consumerist computer

If everyone lived Al Gore's lifestyle the planet would be barren.

He travels across the world in first class seats in fuel wasting jets

the many shots of Al Gore frowning out the windows of (no-doubt private) airplanes

wealthy white people in the audience

By the way, polar bears swim to hunt and for recreation.

The 'hockey stick' graph.
Al Gore is an idiot and should not be taken seriously. This movie is almost as bad as any of Michael Moore's.

The modern environmentalist movement is about hating America for it's progress. It's a plot to destroy capitalism. It's a socialist lie.

his silly attempts to link hurricane Katrina to global warming

today's climate is tame and easy to adapt to

I have no idea how so many people can be fooled by such a pathetic display

this manipulative pseudo-scientific power-point presentation almost makes me wanna spray as much CO2 in the atmosphere as possible

actually plastering a "Stop Global Whining" bumper-sticker on my car

we'll all be dead in a few hundred years... who cares

Las Vegas getting 6 inches of snow, how is that "Global warming?"

global warming is only a theory, it is not a proved problem

the majority of the scientific community is not in agreement on this issue

It's now public knowledge that the scientists proclaiming global warming were caught red handed suppressing contradictory data & fudging the numbers

And to title it as a "truth" is just plain crap

It may be the single biggest hoax in the course of human existence

a hoax more elaborate than Bigfoot

Just Google "Global Warming" and "Hoax"

PS.
